07/10/2021-“There’s always a mountain where I live.”

Took the long trip from Mpumalanga through Johannesburg and back to Cape Town yesterday. It’s a full day’s journey from car to bus to plane but it is a scenic trip. I said goodbye to the mountains on my parents' farm in the morning, and was welcomed back to Cape Town and its stunning Table Mountain in the afternoon.

This little mountain was drawn from a field where I stood amongst some grazing antalpope. It is covered in a great deal of natural vegetation and you can make out where the fire burnt it in patches.

The top of the mountain has a bike track and a logging road I have often explored, but on this day I felt like viewing it from a different angle. What I loved most about this inktober day was the one lonely cloud swirling around the right side of the cliff.
